BRUSSELS — The European Union on Friday signaled it could live with new U.S. tariffs imposed over its alleged failure to ban imports made with forced labor after President Donald Trump largely stuck to the terms of a transatlantic trade truce.
The United States announced extra tariffs of 10% to 12.5% on 60 economies late Thursday, saying the countries had failed to adequately enforce a ban on goods made with forced labor.
The Trump administration on Friday imposed tariffs of 12.5% on imports from Russia, placing it among 60 economies accused by the United States of failing to eradicate forced labor.
