Vance intensifies rapidly and could become a major Category 3 hurricane off Mexico's Pacific Coast

MIAMI — Hurricane Vance rapidly strengthened into a Category 2 storm Friday as it neared Mexico’s Pacific Coast, the National Hurricane Center said.
