ON Aug. 19, 2026, the Cabinet Secretariat of Japan and the Department of Health (DOH) of the Philippines held the 4th Joint Committee Meeting on Healthcare in Manila. The meeting highlighted the continuous partnership on health care and the two countries’ deepening cooperation, focusing on three areas the Philippines currently faces in the health care sector: 1) elderly care, 2) universal health coverage and 3) disaster health management.
