The Vice-President of the Philippines is mandated by the Constitution to become the President and to serve the incumbent’s unexpired term in case of the latter’s death, permanent disability, removal from office, or resignation. Like the President, the Vice-President of the Philippines is elected through direct vote and enjoys a fixed term of 6 years.
