I HAVE noticed in the past few days that there has been another wave of cloyingly positive commentary, some from officials such as Finance Secretary Fred Go, and some from business groups and pundits, about the glorious benefits that will rain down on the Philippines, if only the country disregards the naysayers and completely and unquestioningly attaches itself to the “Pax Silica” initiative championed by the Donald Trump-led MAGA regime in the US.
