Pangasinan 2nd District Rep. Mark Cojuangco, chairman of the House Special Committee on Nuclear Energy, says on July 30, 2026 that the Philippines is unlikely to generate electricity from nuclear power before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s term ends in 2028, as even the quickest option would take years to complete.
