AS reports of school-related violence continue, policymakers rush to come up with solutions. This began with discussions on lowering the age of criminal responsibility for minors. Recently, the Department of Justice offered students who are being bullied access to its government prosecutors when actions by teachers or principals are insufficient, for purposes of mediation, filing appropriate charges, or referral to another office.
