Radio broadcaster Jay Lavapiez survived an assassination attempt after unidentified riding-in-tandem gunmen opened fire on his vehicle along the national highway in Barangay Cagay, Roxas City, Capiz, early Monday, June 22. Lavapiez, the station manager of Roxas City-based radio station Baskog Radyo, was on his way to the radio station when attacked.
