Senator Sherwin Gatchalian is now the Senate president. He clinched the chamber's presidency during today’s Senate special session. With the addition of Senator Joel Villanueva, Gatchalian mustered 13 votes to be elected to the position. Villanueva used to be with the group of ousted Senate chief Alan Peter Cayetano.
