While walking past Nest in Newtown a few weeks ago, I was stopped in my tracks. The full dining room, with its bare wooden tables, tall pressed-tin ceilings and flickering candles, seemed transported. King Street’s buses, cars and foot traffic might be racketing away outside, but inside, it felt like a country-town restaurant at dusk.
