Meralco raises June electricity rates on higher generation charge, peso weakness

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced a P0.1488 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) increase in electricity rates for June, reversing last month’s reduction as higher generation charges and supply pressures in the Luzon grid pushed overall costs upward.
