Brig. Gen. Rommel Batangan, the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) chief, on June 10, 2026 says the driver of the sports utility vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that injured an HPG member surrendered to authorities on June 9. Batangan said the 21-year-old driver from Marikina City, would be facing criminal charges, including abandonment of one's own victim, reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries and damage to property.
