Pilgrims pray on Mount Arafat as hajj reaches peak

MOUNT ARAFAT, Saudi Arabia — Huge numbers of Muslims prayed on Mount Arafat on Tuesday at the climax of the hajj pilgrimage, as a punishing desert sun sent temperatures soaring towards 40C.
