The first woman to have three times conquered the world’s second-highest peak, K2, has also summited the world’s 14 highest peaks. But Naoko Watanabe says climbing is less about piling up records than enjoying an adventure, being happy and experiencing new people, food and culture. She believes the adaptability she developed in her nursing profession has been the key to her success.
