The city government of Naga is ramping up vaccination and awareness campaigns in a bid to eliminate cervical cancer deaths after recording a decline in vaccine coverage among young girls in the city. During the Cervical Cancer Elimination Summit on May 20, 2026 in Naga City, Mayor Leni Robredo urged parents to have their kids vaccinated against human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection that causes 99 percent of cervical cancer.
