EU says countries, not Brussels, should ban LGBTQ+ conversion therapy

BRUSSELS — The European Commission will not enact an EU-wide ban on conversion therapy aimed at changing or suppressing the identity of LGBTQ+ people but will urge countries to outlaw it nationally, in response to a major citizens' petition.
