Due to a low-pressure area currently situated to the northeast of the island, the Director General of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Mr. Susantha Kahawatta, has emphasized that coastal sea areas may become rough. He has urged fishermen to remain highly vigilant and underscored that the wearing of life jackets is mandatory for all those engaged in fishing activities.
