Thailand’s My Dearest Assassin (now streaming on Netflix) squishes together two titan genres of Southeast Asian cinema: romance and martial arts. Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul, Thanapo Leeratanakachorn and Sivakorn Adulsuttikul play a love triangle of asskickers in this neo-chopsocky melodrama directed by Taweewat Wantha (the Death Whisperer films) – and the result is, well, mixed, torn between two styles without fully committing to either.
