Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. says the expansion of the danger zones in Bicol needs to be assessed further as Mayon continues its non-explosive eruption. In an interview with _The Manila Times_, Solidum said that proposals to extend the six-kilometer permanent danger zone around the Mayon Volcano hinged on whether the accumulated volume of deposit on the volcano’s slopes was sufficient to travel further.
