Successive Governments (including the present administration) have spent billions of rupees developing public facilities across the country. However, during the same period since independence, segments of the public have continued to vandalize public property with little restraint. Previous administrations largely ignored this problem, allowing offenders to carry out such acts with impunity by failing to arrest them or enforce the law.
