The United National Party (UNP) has informed the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) that it will not be able to participate in the SJB’s May Day rally, as May Day falls on a full moon day (Poya). UNP General Secretary Thalatha Athukorala, in a letter to SJB General Secretary Ranjith Maddumabandara said that the Party had already planned to devote the day to religious observances.
