After reading Malinda Seneviratne’s scholarly analysis of American ‘Civilisation’ as it stands today, I am somewhat emboldened to write of a different era in the USA which I experienced decades ago…and I am not saying how MANY decades that is! Perhaps I should retreat into unobtrusiveness at this point but his article encourages a reply!
