The area of Kochikade and its surroundings in Colombo-13 are blessed with many kovils, Catholic and Anglican churches, mosques and Buddhist shrines. The most recent kovil to enhance the spiritual aura of this area is the Hare Krishna Kovil, located on New Chetty Street. The kovil was built with the sacrifice and zeal of many faithful devotees, and declared open in February this year.
