It is truly a divine blessing, and indeed a rare privilege, to pen a review of the book on the Sri Ponnambalawaneswarar Temple, Colombo, so ably authored by the distinguished Dr Subashini Pathmanathan. At first glance, the sight of this exquisitely produced volume called to mind the adage, “Do not judge a book by its cover.” Yet in this instance, the book not only delights the eye but also rewards an intellectual mind.
