It is not often that a single national election of an impoverished developing country can significantly change the geopolitics of a whole region, especially a region with the world’s largest concentration of population. Bangladesh, which has rapidly progressed from being one of South Asia’s weakest economies to become the region’s second largest, holds its General Elections today (Thursday).
