President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. says on April 8, 2026 that the Philippine government would ‘take as much advantage’ of the two-week ceasefire forged by the United States and Iran in the Middle East. In a video released by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Marcos welcomed the truce and said the development was very beneficial to the country since a key component of the deal was reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
