Deputy Health Minister Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni said that nearly 100 new cancer patients are identified daily in Sri Lanka, while around 40 lives are lost each day, noting that cancer has become one of the country’s major public health challenges and that the numbers continue to rise steadily.
