Sri Lanka celebrates 73 years of independence today. Since its inception, Independence Square has become a familiar sight for Sri Lankans. Independence Square still looms large in the Sri Lankan consciousness and will continue to do so. It is a constant in the public lives of citizens. Chartered Architect Susil Lamahewa speaks.
