Sri Lanka recorded a current account surplus of USD 1.7 billion (provisional) in 2025, supported by consistent monthly surpluses and a historic high in workers’ remittances exceeding USD8 billion, the External Sector Performance December 2025 report issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka said.
