I remember a trip I made to Dambana with my friend Ariyapala Ratnayake about twenty years ago. The first place we went was Gurukumbura School. At first glance, the school—consisting of only a few classrooms—gave us the impression of being isolated and solitary, situated in the middle of a forest village.
