Ex-8th Army commander appointed as acting U.S. Army chief, raising expectations for role over Korea security

WASHINGTON, April 4 (Yonhap) -- A former commander of the South Korea-headquartered U.S. Eighth Army has been appointed to serve as acting Army chief of staff after Gen. Randy George recently left the post, a Pentagon official has said, raising expectations about his potential role for the Seoul-Washington alliance.
