The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) Chairman, MP Dr. Nishantha Samaraweera said that a proposal that empowers the committee to directly file complaints with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) in order to take further action regarding fraud and corruption uncovered by the COPE will be presented to Parliament shortly.
