On the instructions of the Commissioner General of Excise of the Sri Lanka Excise Department, M.B.N.A. Pemaratne, Deputy Commissioner of Excise (Law Enforcement) Tissa Rajapaksa and the Excise Superintendent (Islandwide Excise Special Operations Unit) G. Hemantha, and under the direction of the OIC of the Islandwide Excise Special Operations Unit, Chief Excise Inspector Neil Ekanayake, based on information received from Excise Inspector Thushara Weeraman, a raid was carried out at a registered beedi company in Mahena, Warakapola on January 09.
