The Cabinet has decided to divest all remaining underutilised Plantation Ministry lands and properties coming under the Plantation and Community Infrastructure Ministry to suitable investors, according to a news item we published yesterday. The decision follows Cabinet approval granted on June 02, 2025, under which action is currently being undertaken to dispose of underutilised lands and properties identified in Stage One of the Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation, the Janatha State Development Board and the Elkaduwa Plantation Company.
