Cabinet has approved a draft Bill aimed at dismantling criminal gangs, drug trafficking networks and their financial bases, according to our front-page report of yesterday’s edition. The legislation is also aimed at closing legal loopholes and facilitating the forfeiture of assets acquired through illegal means, among other matters. The Legal Draftsman is to be instructed to prepare the new draft Bill on the prevention of organized crime in Sri Lanka, the report further adds.
