There is a small factory in Kadawatha, on a strip of land beside a family home, that produces an interesting object. Interesting in the sense, the object sits uneasily within Sri Lanka’s regulatory frame. Air rifles are tightly controlled. Manufacturing them, more so. Yet it is here that Royston Thomas has built what appears to be the country’s only licensed operation of its kind.
