The world stands at a perilous precipice. Following the conflict in West Asia and the resulting disruption of oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz, the International Energy Agency (IEA) has issued a stark warning. Executive Director Fatih Birol describes this as “the largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market,” labelling it the “greatest global energy security threat in history”.
