Mother Nature determines whether we are born male or female. Some may believe this is decided by God or influenced by past lives. Regardless, priority is given to those who are naturally born male or female, as they have done nothing to influence their biological status at birth. In that sense, they are seen by some as the original inhabitants of humanity.
