Labour market conditions showed improvement, with the unemployment rate declining to 3.8 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025 from 4.2 per cent in the previous quarter. The labour force participation rate also rose to 48.8 per cent from 47.7 per cent, reflecting increased economic activity according to the latest weekly economic indicators issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
