Former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena was remanded in custody till March 19 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday (12) following his arrest by the CIABOC over allegations of accepting a bribe exceeding €1.4 million in connection with a controversial Airbus deal. According to investigators, Chandrasena is accused of accepting the payment while serving as the CEO of SriLankan Airlines and as the Chairman of the procurement committee responsible for the purchase of Airbus aircraft for the national carrier.
