The first weekend of this year was a thrilling experience. International media felt more like watching a Hollywood thriller. One president held another to account. We see these strongmen diminished because they are stripped of ceremony. We begin to narrate (or rather see the narrations of) them as victims. This instinct stems from the milk of human kindness within us.
