The appointment of Justices of the Peace (JPs) will no longer be based on political considerations, Justice and National Integration Minister Harshana Nanayakkara told Parliament. In response to a question raised by SJB MP Hesha Withanage in Parliament yesterday (6), the Minister explained that a new mechanism has been established to handle complaints regarding JPs and a system is also being developed to compile data on all JPs across the country.
