A Fundamental Rights petition has been filed before the Supreme Court challenging the legality of the arrest and detention of former Director of the State Intelligence Service, Suresh Salley, in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks. The petition was filed by a retired Sri Lanka Air Force officer who alleges that Salley’s arrest and continued detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act are unlawful and in violation of his fundamental rights.
