The staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in France commenced work in the New Year on January 01, 2026 with a simple ceremony. Following the raising of the National Flag and lighting of the traditional oil lamp, a two-minute’ silence was observed to commemorate those who lost their lives in Cyclone Ditwah, and to commemorate members of the tri-forces, war heroes and all those who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the Motherland.
