Thousands of people gathered at Galle Face Green on Christmas day to celebrate Christmas, as a carnival organized at the premises attracted families, tourists, and large crowds throughout the day. While the festive atmosphere was welcomed by the public, a serious issue regarding inadequate sanitary facilities caused significant inconvenience, particularly to women and children.
