The recent incident where at least two drivers of ride-hailing or ride-sharing services were threatened and assaulted by three-wheeler drivers in Ella has gone viral. The ride-hailing drivers apparently incurred the wrath of taxi drivers in Ella for “invading” their turf. Worse, two Police officers from Ella have been caught on camera telling the ride-hailing drivers that they cannot bring in passengers to Ella, which is the “exclusive business” of taxi drivers in the area.
