The call by a group of the world’s top economists for Sri Lanka’s debt repayments to be suspended in the wake of the devastation caused by cyclone Ditwah, is indeed quite reasonable, given the scale of the damage caused in its wake. This, perhaps, is the first time that such a call has gone out from influential sections abroad.
