Hatton-Dickoya Urban Council (UC) Chairman Asoka Karunarathna has taken steps to inform the public to immediately halt all construction activities being carried out within the Urban Council limits without the recommendations of the Council and the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) after Cyclone Ditwah. The Chairman stated that steps have been taken to stop construction in the Hatton-Dickoya Urban Council limits because some people are constructing buildings with the cooperation of some officials of the Urban Council sans obtaining approval
