Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala informed Parliament yesterday (19) that the first grant of Rs. 25,000 which is paid for the families affected by the floods to clean their houses have been paid to 257,000 families out of the total of 493,000 entitled to the payment so far and this initial payment will be made to the rest of the families within next week by the relevant public officials.
