South Asia is one of the world’s most disaster-prone regions, exposed to cyclones, floods, earthquakes, landslides, droughts, and climate-induced hazards. With nearly a quarter of the world’s population and high population density, the region’s vulnerability is magnified by poverty, unplanned urbanisation, environmental degradation, and weak cross-border coordination.
